This guy. This episode-stealer right here, deserves an award. I call him Mof. Mof because he’s Mako’s Only Fan in the episode. See the hat? He lent that to Mako for ep 3. He probably thought he and Mako would be friends after that episode — hence the really cheery, bro-call that Mako ignored. Poor Mof. He was just being nice, and yet he, too, was unwittingly caught in the crossfire. Someone add him to the love dodecahedron!

i liked this scene a lot, probably more than the kiss. i thought it was so mako to reveal his feelings by going ”KORRA YOU’RE SO ANNOYING
i also think you’re amazing cough“versus his brother, who literally just said “KORRA YOU’RE THE SEXIEST PERSON ALIVE”
i’m not saying that either confession was worth more, but MAKO you’re so cute in your own terrible way. he’s just so closed-off and he can’t just outright say “korra i think you’re really awesome” like his brother and sorry i just thought that was adorable (ughnn and he’s all conflicted and it’s so cheesy but IDGAF). it sort of parallels the first time he/they complimented her, though:

- Mako: *Finally gets a break in pro bending but nearly ruined by the fact that he’s being extorted by his employer*
- Mako: *Gets a hard, filthy, hot, unforgiving, and low-paying job to try to provide for his brother*
- Mako: *Buys brother favorite dumplings with hard-earned money*
- Mako: *Saves brother from a dangerous equalist organization by marching up there and throwing his attacker clear across the room*
- Mako: *Get hit by moped and goes on a date*
- Mako: *returns a kiss from his crush for .5 seconds*
- Mako: *Physically picks up his brother on his back and carries him several miles and up at least two flights of stairs*
